Ashtanga Classes
Fundamentals. This class teaches students the postures that make up the sun salutations used in Ashtanga. This sequence later becomes the vinyasa used to connect the seated postures. Students also learn ujjayi breathing.
Ashtanga Basics. In this class, the sun salutations are practiced a great deal to develop the foundation necessary to practice the whole series. This class also teaches students the first half of the standing sequence.
Led Ashtanga. This class teaches the standing postures and the first few seated postures of the primary series. This class is helpful for students learning the series to make sure that they are moving with their breath correctly.
Mysore. New students can join Mysore practice once they are able to practice the sun salutations without instruction. Mysore requires a commitment to learn the practice and is not suitable for occassional drop-ins.
Self Practice. Because daily or almost daily practice is so beneficial, we offer self-practice sessions for members with an established practice. These sessions offer no instruction, but provide the opportunity for a group practice.

Evening Flow is a soft, flow class designed to work the body and breath to balance each of the seven chakras. Appropriate for beginners, this class offers the opportunity to slow down and breathe. Connect the body, mind, and spirit through breath control, basic asanas, eye excerises, and meditation.
Iyengar Yoga emphasizes a balance between strength and flexibility, builds endurance, develops self-awareness through precision movement and attention to the more subtle aspects of posture and breath. Asanas are individualized for the needs of different bodies, using props to maximze opening and awareness throughout the body. The props make this class suitable for people with injuries. This class is not a flow class, which allows the students to spend more time in the poses and modify them to suit their individual needs.
Power Yoga is a modern form of Ashtanga. It uses the sun salutations to create a flowing series of poses, linked by the breath, exercising the whole body. Designed for those looking for a great workout, this class helps build strength and flexibility while moving at a pace that helps improve endurance. This class is perfect for students who like the rigor of ashtanga, but like a variety of poses. It's also appropriate for ashtanga students who like to mix it up occassionally. Students need to attend Ashtanga Basics or Fundamentals before Power Yoga.
